1. Take a home inventory
After recent natural disasters it has become even more important to take account of your personal belongings. Make a list of all of the items in your home in case something serious happens.

2. Improve your credit
Bad credit can have a negative impact on your car insurance rates. Your insurance score (which includes your credit score) reflects your risk as a potential client to insurance companies. Pay your credit card bill on time and watch your insurance rates go down!
3. Stop leaving your keys in the car
One out of every eight stolen cars in 2017 was due to leaving keys in the car. Check your auto insurance comprehensive coverage; without this coverage you would have to buy another car without the insurance company pitching in.
4. Stay in the kitchen while you are cooking
Cooking fires are the number one cause of home fires. According to the National Fire Protection Association unattended cooking is the leading cause of cooking fires. Even when you are entertaining a house full of guests, stay attentive to what is on the stove.
5. Don’t overexert
“I will lose weight in 2018” – “I am going to eat so healthy in 2018.” I am sure we have all heard people say this recently. When deciding to make exercise and diet changes, make sure to do them incrementally. It is difficult to change a habit cold Turkey. Slowly introduce healthier alternatives into your diet and begin with simple routines at the gym.
6. Stop smoking
Life and health insurance cost less for nonsmokers. To receive a nonsmoking rate you usually need to be smoke-free for at least a year. It will improve your health, well-being, and insurance options. Get your family and friends on board to help you quit.
