The fifth leading cause of distracted driving accidents is eating and drinking behind the wheel. Even if you are in a rush to a meeting or class, always plan enough time in the morning or evening to eat and drink before you leave.
Waking up a few minutes earlier to give yourself some extra time to eat will ensure that you can have two hands on the wheel. Trying to hold onto a sandwich with one hand and the wheel with the other does not give you full control of your car. If another car merges into your lane, you will not be able to act as quickly with just one hand on the wheel.
